Issue 39

Rio writes: "Swimming At The Pond by Frog   I was catching frogs and giving frogs swimming lessons! We found the world record frog! By Rio" Amazing title - Rio really thought about what would grab the reader's attention.

Bruno writes: "World record frog" He is listening to each sound and finding letters, with help, that make them. The picture is of the pond, and he used the texture of the table to show ripples in the water.

Julianna wrote "mirror mirror on the wall". That was an example from our lesson on headlines, and a line from one of her very favorite stories! Way to listen for all those vowel sounds.

Bruno asked that I write out the names so he could spell them. He's really hearing each sound in a word, and beginning to match it to a letter!

Rio wrote "Cuba Mesa flash flood" and "Rio de los Penos bear track!" Great punctuation, Rio! And he didn't ask for any help in sounding out those words.

Check out the Wilderness Awareness School at http://www.wildernessawareness.org/ if you're interested!

Renee loves animals, and cut these out so carefully. Super glad to have you Renee!

"I love swimming" plus there are drawings of her family, her home, Texas (the dark shape) and lots more!

"Sushi bowls" are one of Rio's favorite "homemade foods" as he said. "Purple I like purple" and "Shower".

Bruno wrote his name as small as he could. These are slides he went down at City Museum in St. Lewis this summer.

Yoli said she's not that excited about going to Boston, but it's important. The bird has a snack! Very clever.
