Kid Art Oasis
For the past two weekends, the schoolhouse community has been hard at work making our kid art oasis the best it could be for the East Austin Studio Tour. Out of 160+ sites, we were one of the only stops dedicated to art made by kids. Our circle painting panels tuned out beautifully and the bike powered spin art was a hit! The cardboard station was filled with creativity and the kid art was proudly on display. It was great to have so many families come to enjoy the event. Thanks to all our volunteers and the Tinkering school for making it all possible.

Kid Art Oasis - high noon on the East Austin Studio Tour - this weekend and next!
We are so thrilled to welcome families for art and tinkering this weekend and next on the East Austin Studio Tour!
EAST site #73
2006 E. 9th St. 78702
12 noon - 4pm
Nov. 16-17 + 23-34
Come join in the fun with your child - plenty to keep those creative juices flowing. The incredible Austin Tinkering School folks have created a spin art bicycle! Yes it's true...our pedal power knows no bounds! Give it a spin!
Other offerings include an Open:Make, corrugated style; a collaborative Community Circle Painting project; recycled bubble wand-making, and hooping!
Plus, check out the student art gallery and hand-made merch offerings - with prices so nice and funds going to support alternative education on the East Side, you might just want to bring some pocket money. What better way to extend your studio touring than to make a pit stop at the Kid Art Oasis! We're right around the corner from Blackshear Elementary -- be sure to stop by their kid-friendly Little East site too.
More info and RSVP at the event page on facebook.

Getting in the Halloween Spirit
To get ready for Halloween, we had daily craft sessions to decorate the schoolhouse. It was fun to talk about everyones costumes, plans, ideas, and hopes for the holiday.
