Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, Ramadan, Hanukkah, and Norwegian Christmas were our literacy focus for December. We went in depth on each and learned new information on how people around the world celebrate the season. We made Latkes for lunch and found out they were delicious!

Mid December, we hopped on a bus and traveled to Zilker Park to meet Eric from Earth Native. He showed us several edible plants around the park and how to identify and eat them properly. It was cold that day, but we hiked enough to warm up and had a picnic up in the rocks and played a game.
